About the Site

Ms. Poole created this website for several equally important reasons. She wants a way to easily communicate with students and parents. Additionally, a website provides students with a unique opportunity to practice their internet skills and access to course materials that they may have misplaced. Lastly, this website will drastically cut back on the number of photocopies Ms. Poole will have to make, which will both help the environment and allow the school to use their resources elsewhere. Hopefully my students and their families will share the enthusiasm for the use of technology in education.

About Ms. Poole

Ms. Poole grew up in Sacramento, California. She attended UC Santa Cruz and earned a BA in History of the Americas and Africa, and a minor in Language Studies: Spanish. She went on to earn her MA in Education and California Teaching Credential at UC Santa Cruz. She is certified to teach English, Social Sciences and Drama. She began teaching at Soquel High School, in Soquel, CA and moved to Pioneer High School for the 2007-2008 school year. This year (2009-2010) she teaches two sections of World History, two sections of US History, and one section of “Intensive” World History for students with special circumstances who need to “catch up.”

Ms. Poole enjoys reading, running, and spending time with her friends and family. She hopes that her students will gain an understanding of the world around them, develop opinions on world issues, become expert critical thinkers, and have an appreciation of their lives in the United States in the 21st century. Go Mustangs!

Classroom Donations

Classroom donations are greatly appreciated. Unfortunately, I cannot offer extra credit for donations. However, all classroom donations are tax deductible and will improve the classroom environment. A few specific items are particularly needed: tissues, white-board pens, blank CDs, USB flash drives (256 MB), post-it notes, construction or copy paper, glue sticks, blank composition books for needy students, tape and disinfecting wipes. Any contribution you can make will be greatly appreciated.
